Client Services at Bolen | Dodson & Associates

Bolen | Dodson & Associates is registered with the Securities Exchange Commission as an investment advisor and provides advisory, financial planning, and investment management services.

We provide advice on your financial concerns, including, but not limited to: goals and objectives, goal time horizons, risk and loss tolerance, investments, taxes, insurance, retirement planning, estate planning, charitable planning and business succession planning. Most of our clients are individuals, but we also work with pension plans, businesses, charities, and trusts and estates.

We engage in fundamental and technical security analysis. Our main sources of information are research materials prepared by others, corporate rating services, industry periodicals, annual reports, SEC filings and company press releases. Our investment strategy is investing for the long term, but occasionally, on a client-specific basis, we will invest for the short term.

We do not earn sales commissions by selling securities or insurance products. We do not compensate anyone, either directly or indirectly for client referrals. We do not have a minimum size for client accounts.

We provide you with the benefit of our continuing study of economic conditions, securities markets and sectors, individual company, and other macro and micro issues. On the basis of these studies and your own specific situation, we will provide advice regarding the allocation of your assets, including the specific allocation of money market funds, stocks and bonds, municipal and government securities, mutual funds, unit investment trusts, exchange-traded funds, options, real estate and other appropriate investments.

As a financial planner, we develop written financial plans and provide advisory consultations.

Exact financial planning fees depend on the complexity of your financial situation and you can terminate at any time. We will also manage your account(s) for a percentage of the assets under our management. The annual fee ranges from 0.5% to 1.5%, depending on the size and complexity of your account. The fee is paid quarterly, in advance, at the end of each quarter. If you wish to terminate our association you may do so at any time and charges will be pro-rated.

We prefer to have our fee withdrawn directly from client account(s), but this will be permitted only when authorized by the client in writing. Bolen | Dodson & Associates will send the fee statement to the client. The statement will show the amount of the fee, how it was calculated, and the value of the assets on which the fee is based.

At the start of our relationship, you will establish and maintain, in your name, accounts into which you shall deposit funds and/or securities, which shall be referred to as managed assets. We manage accounts on a discretionary basis, but we limit our discretionary authority to placing buy and sell transactions in publicly traded securities. Your account(s) will be held solely in your name and will require your authorization for withdrawal. Investment guidelines will be established by mutual agreement in writing at the start of the client/manager relationship. Discretionary transactions are limited to publicly traded stocks and bonds, exchange-traded funds, mutual funds, government securities and when appropriate, options. You may at any time increase or decrease your managed assets.

Our preferred custodian is Fidelity Investments, but you are free to select any custodian you wish for implementation of our advice. We selected Fidelity based on their advisory platform, transaction costs, skills, reputation, and dependability and not based upon any financial agreement between them and us.
